Baby Quackers was one of four First Tooth baby earth ponies
introduced in this set. She was designed after the Twinkle Eye
pony Quackers, and had the same colouring and basic symbol
design. She also had a first tooth. She was featured in one of
the new baby earth pony poses - the pose would be used again in
later sets, for ponies which were not technically First Tooth
babies. Quackers was not sold in the UK, so the baby was the
first introduction we had to this design.
This set was on sale in North America in 1987, and reached the
UK in 1988. It was also sold in most European countries in 1988.
The box designs were the same across most releases, with only
Italy having it's own style of box. There are minor differences
in the box layout in English between the UK and North America,
such as spelling changes, but the easiest way to tell a UK box
at a glance is the type of hole punched at the top.
Aside the unique Italian box (in which the pony had the same
accessories), there were two other unique releases within
Europe. One was the Dutch My Little Pony club promotional card
version, where the baby pony came only with a single toothbrush
(poor mite!).
