Baby Explorer
Baby Explorer was the unicorn from the Starlight Baby set. She
bore similarities to the American pony Baby Gusty, but is
generally considered her own pony, despite the shared symbol. She
had tinsel in her hair and a shiny sheen that looked like she had
been varnished with PVA glue (UK kids from the eighties or
nineties should get that reference). She was sold with a shooting
star comb.

Exploring Variations :)
As with Baby Mischief, Baby Explorer also has a number of
known variations. At least four can be confirmed, and these
are pictured below.
The pony at the top of the page is made in Hong Kong, which I
acquired from a carboot sale here in the UK during the
nineties.

As with Mischief, the gold-only tinsel version is most often
found in Germany, although appears more difficult to find than
the Mischief version. There are some minor manufacturing
differences between these versions - the China version with
rainbow tinsel is a bolder shade of yellow, while the China
version with gold tinsel has different colour eyes (a far pinker
shade). There are also differences in expression between China
and Hong Kong versions.

Baby Explorer's Character
Baby Explorer was a foolhardy explorer and adventurer, who liked
nothing better than taking to the skies in her hot air balloon to
go visit new lands and find new treasures. This love for venturing
beyond safe boundaries sometimes led her into danger, but also
could lead her to make new friends. She was not shy, and did not
always consider the danger of her actions - but she had no ill
intentions.
She was usually illustrated in the comic without a horn, despite
her unicorn magic occasionally being mentioned in story plots.
