Beddy Bye Eye Baby Heart Throb

Baby Heart Throb was sold as part of the Beddy Bye Eye Baby set in North America in 1985-6. The set was also sold in Benelux countries in translated boxes. She came with an array of accessories, in order for her new guardian to take good care of her. Because she was modelled off the adult So Soft Heart Throb, her symbol was three hearts, rather than winged hearts. She was one of only two baby ponies ever made in this mould, which was created to accommodate her open-shut eyes. This version was not sold in the UK.

Unlike the UK Play and Care Set box, the Beddy Bye Eye baby box made a direct connection between mother and baby pony. The set name was on the top flap, while the front of the box proudly announced that Heart Throb now had a baby. The box featured Baby Heart Throb and Baby Ribbon on the top flap and Baby Lofty and Baby Lickety Split on the bottom corners. All six characters featured on the back of the box.



Baby Heart Throb's character

Baby Heart Throb appeared in the animated series, most notably as one of the three babies who starred in 'Bright Lights' as fangirls of the musician Knightshade. Her backcard story in the US described her making and delivering Valentine cards; it also mentions her relationship with her mother.
