Moondancer as a Fable Pony.

Please do not adjust your sceen settings. This is genuinely a yellow version of Moondancer. She has not discoloured...she is legitimately released in yellow. Why this happened? I...don't know. I don't think anyone really does. I did mention that 1986 was a bit of a crazy year! The best suggestion I can put out there is that Hasbro looked at the ponies in the set and decided they were all too much on the pink/blue/purple side. They also had Surprise in white already. So Moondancer went yellow. That is entirely speculation on my part, however. They could just as easily have settled it by introducing Medley, which would have balanced the set better with regard to species. But there we are.

She is marked Hong Kong.

Moondancer was sold in this form in Nordic countries (definitely Sweden, Norway and Finland - the pony pictured came to me from Finland). She was also sold in South Africa and probably Australia. She was not sold in the UK, despite some sites and sources still persisting in calling her "UK Moondancer."

Italian Yellow Moondancer.

Italian versions of yellow Moondancer were also sold in some European countries, such as Germany. She had a metallic, rather than a glittery symbol, and blue eyes. This version was probably sold on the same style of card as the 'Fable' pony release, under the name "Fabelponys".

I'm sorry, I have to say it. She looks like cheese. O.o
