Thundercloud

Thundercloud was sold in 1987, in the Mountain Boy pony set in the UK and a handful of other countries. He was sold on a very elaborately decorated card featuring the six ponies in the mountains (which is, logically, where they lived).

 At time of writing, no examples of Thundercloud Mint on Card are known to survive. Thundercloud's accessories were a yellow grasshopper comb and a dark purple ribbon (unique to him), as well as a puffy sticker. His hair was intentionally curly.

Thundercloud's production name was 'Storm', and this name appears on a name tag for Snuzzle's Grooming Parlour,  alongside Thundercloud's symbol. He also had this name in Hasbro's promotional booklet, suggesting his name change came late on in production.

Thundercloud's Character

Thundercloud was the oldest and wisest of the Mountain Boy ponies. He was quite happy to stay around Misty mountain, and had a long standing friendship with the mountain magician. In one later story, he played a supporting role in Twirler's adventure to follow the whispering whirligig and free the Merry-go-Round ponies.
