Lightning

Lightning was sold in 1987, in the Mountain Boy pony set in the UK and a handful of other countries. He was sold on a very elaborately decorated card featuring the six ponies in the mountains (which is, logically, where they lived).

Lightning's accessories were a pale yellow frog brush (paler than Tug's) and a ribbon (thought to be yellow-green), as well as a puffy sticker.

Although no Mint on Card Lightning is currently known to survive, collectors' childhood memories have helped piece together this information. 

Lightning's Character

Lightning was a friendly character, who enjoyed playing hide and seek with the baby ponies, using his magic trick to entertain them. In one story, he *may* have been flirting a little with Confetti.

He had the ability to teleport, a power that the animated series restricted to unicorn ponies. This ability was like the flash of lightning, and he liked to make other ponies start by appearing beside them unexpectedly. He seems to have been especially fond of (and adored by) Baby Cuddles, who did not throw her usual spoiled tantrums when he was around.
