Noodles and Doodles

Noodles and Doodles were sold in the North American set, but did not make it to the United Kingdom. In wonderfully stereotypical style, Doodles was pink and a girl, and Noodles was blue and a boy. Noodles was the only noted male baby in the North American set. The two ponies had different poses, and the only way they matched was their symbols (and rhyming names, which are adorable.) They were sold with snail rockers, one each - aqua and yellow. They also had matching nightgowns - the pattern on the fabric seems to have some variations, but the bows on Noodles and Doodles's gowns seem to be pink. Why they have rockers and nighties is a mystery but never mind semantics.

The box for the Newborn twins in the North American release was quite different from the box used in the UK for the sets sold there. It featured four twinsets on the front - Sniffles and Snookums and Milkweed and Tumbleweed were on the top flap, whilst Noodles and Doodles and Nibbles and Dibbles were on the bottom front. The whole of the plastic bubble/inlay space where the ponies would have been was surrounded with a lace blanket frill.

The back of the box featured the full set of twins for the year, including some of the accessories. Unlike the UK box, which featured both stories, only one story was featured on the back of the box (shown belongs to Rattles and Tattles).

Noodles and Doodles' characters

Noodles and Doodles had no UK comic persona, as they were not sold here, nor did they appear in the animated media. Their box story talks about them stacking and knocking over blocks while singing the alphabet song. Possibly wearing nightgowns. Who knows.

The story also mentions a double rainbow appearing in the sky to herald the arrival of the twins. Not quite as original as being drawn into life, but still cute! This appeared on the stories for all the sets of twins, even those sold in the UK.
