Sweetheart Sister Ponies with Perfume and Puffy Hair

The Prom Queen Sweetheart Sister Ponies were the third iteration of Sweetheart Sister ponies, and were originally made available in 1990. Perhaps because, in 1990, proms were not a thing that happened in the UK, the idea did not carry over the ocean, and this set had no UK release. The set was released in North America - I am not sure if it was sold anywhere else.

The set comprised four slender characters with earrings, like the previous two sets. This set had very fluffy curly hair, although in second hand ponies, this is often in poor condition and can end up quite 'poofy'. They were also sold with ruffle skirts, perfume and chunky floral hair clips. All of these accessories are difficult to find second hand. For some reason, ponies from this set often show up in far worse condition second hand than ponies from the other two sets.

The boxes for this set were distinctive - as can be seen above, they were curved at the front, with a big window to show off the pony inside. While this box style was used for a few other sets in North America, it was not a style that caught on in the UK release.
