Pretty Mane Ponies
The Pretty Mane Ponies were offered via mail order in
around 1989 to 1991, and were only available in North America.
They were not released in Europe or the UK and did not come to
the UK in clearance packages at the end of the line.
In the USA, they were offered for $6 plus 1 horseshoe point
each, and were available separately (but they go together, so
I am including them on the same page). In Canada they
were offered in 1990 for $7 plus 2 horseshoe points, and
appeared on an insert with a wide array of other mail order
ponies. The offer expired in summer 1991.
They are made in amended versions of the
Flutter Pony
pose belonging to
Rosedust but were not ever sold
with wings or wing-fixings, which have been edited out of the
mould for this release. They also appear to be slightly larger
in proportion.
Dabble's mane streaks should be dark purple and aqua, but the
aqua fades extremely easily, even without exposure to sunlight
or chemicals, and many second hand Dabbles - like mine - have
white/cream streaks instead. (It's not always fading pink
causing the problems!) This may well be to do with the dying
process, although Scribbles does not suffer from this issue.
