So Soft Twilight

Twilight was sold in the third and final full set of So Soft ponies in 1987. She was released in North America, and also in Italy, although she does not seem to have been sold anywhere else in Europe. She is very difficult to find in good condition, especially with hair that has been unfaded.

Twilight was the second pony in the My Little Pony range to be given that name - the first being the early unicorn pony.

Twilight's Character

Twilight was not sold in the UK, but did have a role in one episode of the later My Little Pony and Friends series, Flight to Cloud Castle. Her backcard story also painted her as the host of a costume ball - probably as a result of Hasbro trying to sell My Little Pony costume-wear in the same release year! She had a magic trick which involved wiggling her ears and moving candles around - this doesn't sound very useful to me, and potentially a bit dangerous!
