Locket in the UK

Locket was introduced in 1987, and was sold simultaneously in North America and in the UK. She was the only pegasus pony in the 1987 set, and had a pink 'ice cream' like colour scheme. She also featured one of the year's new poses. The card Locket was sold on in the UK is extremely rare and no UK carded example of Locket is known to survive. It was white with a rainbow down the middle, and Locket was pictured on the front and the back.

It is likely that Locket had the same accessories in the UK as the continental European release (pictured below) shows - as shooting star combs were the usual comb accessory for Twinkle Eye ponies here.

Locket in Other Places

Locket was probably available in Italy in around 1987, as she appears on the Italian insert for that year. She was also sold in German speaking countries and in France on a different style of card in around 1988 - she appears on the insert for France for that year.

This card had an orange border, and featured Locket and Fizzy on the front. The release had no sticker.

Locket's North American release featured a different comb - a sun pick in purple - rather than the shooting star. She had no sticker in this release, either.

Locket's Character

Locket's magic was, unsurprisingly, linked to magic keys which had the potential to open up all kinds of adventures. One prominent story I recall was when a key from a birthday card at Baby Lucky and Spike's party ended up leading Locket, Lucky and Spike on a journey to find Baby Half Note and her dance companions, trapped on an island. Locket helped to bring Baby Half Note to Ponyland.
