Skylark was generally accompanied in stories by a couple of
skylark birds, who were her particular familiars.
Her star role in the comics came in a multi-part adventure
which began with the apparent kidnapping of her friend Star
Gleamer. Skylark, along with a strangely dressed chappie called
Kestor and a proactive white mouse, headed off to rescue Star
Gleamer from her Rapunzel-esque tower.

Once rescued, Skylark and Star Gleamer helped Kestor on his
quest to find the Apple of Delight and make his fortune. These
two plotlines were interwoven with some unpleasant goblin types
- the Gloom Goblin who kidnapped Star Gleamer and the Gem Goblin
who jealously guarded the Apple of Delight. Once found, Kestor
took the Apple to Prince Jasper and got a reward of a nice fancy
farm with golden cows and...the hand of his true love Kate in
marriage.
I don't even know where to begin with that, since the story
seems to merge themes from Rapunzel (Let down your hair!)
Disney's Aladdin (Touch nothing but the lamp!), Jack and the
Beanstalk (Magic seeds!) and a fairytale wedding (I give up).
