The Bright Bouquet Loving Family

The Bright Bouquet Loving Family were sold in the UK in 1989 and 1990, and this release overlapped with their releases in Europe. Both the individual and boxed gift set releases of these ponies were available in the UK, which may explain why some of them are quite common on the second hand market. I believe that both versions were also available in parts of Europe, though I am not sure both releases were universal.

The individually carded ponies were sold on English or translated cards, and ponies could be made in China or with no country on their hooves. This may be Spain - as they were available in Spain - but "no country" versions were also sold normally in the UK, on cards marked Made in China.

Although the gift set included ribbons for all three included family members, Daddy Bright Bouquet was not sold on card with a ribbon. He also had the same comb as Mummy Bright Bouquet, not the flower brush from the gift set. Carded Loving Family ponies also sometimes came with Mummy Charms in 1989.

The Baby Brother pony was not sold as part of the combined set, and was exclusive to the individual carded release sold in the UK and Europe. He was a childhood pony for me, and his bow-tie, while purple, has white elastic (as compared to Baby Lucky's, which has purple elastic). The Baby Sister was included in the gift pack. She was also sold separately on an individual card with a purple I Luv You barrette.


Chinese and No Country versions of the parents are equally as common as one another in the UK second hand market, and across Europe.

The Bright Bouquet Loving Family


The backcard for the Bright Bouquet Loving Family ponies leaves the world of the rational and floats off into dreamland. Although they seem like an innocent, flower themed family, apparently Daddy can make drawings of hearts turn into red heart balloons by blinking, while Mummy can do a similar trick, making flower drawings grow in the ground. Perhaps they should get together with Baby Lucky and start a 'bringing-drawings-to-life' business...
