Dangles


Dangles was one of four earth babies in the newborn pony set. She used an earlier pose that had been introduced with the Newborn Twins, and she was sold with a duck comb and a small newborn bottle. She was sold in the UK on a blue card with blue borders. She is one of the rarer ponies from this set.

I have seen a Mint on Card version of Dangles with an orange card (language being from the Benelux). This can be found on Chrissytree's site. I'm not sure if this is an actual variation or lighting in the photograph. All other versions of Dangles I've ever seen have had the gold-yellow comb. More information on this is needed.



Dangles's Character

Dangles's comic persona was a bit less emphatic than some of her companions, although she was one of the first Newborn ponies to appear in Ponyland. She also seems to have been more interested in the rules - or less adventurous - than the others, as one story has her regretting not being old enough to go out late at night. Dangles's symbol is a mobile, and Dangles had the ability to make the mobile over her head move if she wiggled her nose.

The above picture shows her in the Nursery's crib with nursery accessories, and so probably the mobile she is magicking here is the one in the nursery bedroom. Why she apparently has the nursery in her nursery bedroom with her is a mystery known only to the comic artists...
