Yo-Yo

Yo-Yo was the pegasus baby in the newborn pony set. She used an earlier pose that had been introduced with the Newborn Twins, and she was sold with a duck comb and a small newborn bottle. She was sold on a blue card with blue borders. The below card has been cropped but the sealed pony is intact to show how she was packaged. Her accessories were the same in North America.

I have a special soft spot for Yo-Yo as, as a child, she was my first baby pegasus. :) She had fading pink hair and so can sometimes be found with her hair in white (my loose one has lost colour over the years). Her hair is also intentionally curly.

Yo-Yo's Character

As her name suggests, playing Yo-Yo was a favourite activity of this little pony. But this was not her only comic depiction. The newborn ponies had an active relationship with the Petite Ponies, whom they kept a secret from the bigger ponies for quite some time. One story depicts Yo-Yo and Wiggles getting a 'distress alert' from the Petites, who need their help. They ultimately consult an intelligent giant for help resolving the problem. Stories like this show how much more independent these newborn ponies were compared to the initial release of Newborn Twins.

The chest of drawers depicted in the above image is from Lullabye Nursery, indicating that these babies did live there. I feel like the nursery was a tardis, given how many ponies it had to house!
