Sun Glider


Sun Glider was one of six new characters released in the Windy Wing pony set in 1989.  She was sold in the UK - and in other European countries - in the same style of pink box as was used in North America. The UK box may have had a UK stamp added to the bottom to denote the release, but I have never had a Windy Wing box so cannot be sure. In France and in German speaking countries, the boxes were translated into the respective languages. It is unknown whether they were sold in translated or English-import boxes in other parts of Europe, or how many European countries saw a release of this set.

Sun Glider's Character

Sun Glider did make appearances in the My Little Pony comic, around 1989. She often seemed to appear in tandem with Starry Wings. In one adventure, they had to defeat the Widdershins Witch, who was hexing people into their homes, and who was targeting Lullabye Nursery. In another, they thwarted the plan of another evil being, who had kidnapped the constellations and stripped them of their sparkle. This latter story painted Sun Glider in a somewhat impatient light.
