Whirly


Whirly was one of six new characters released in the Windy Wing pony set in 1989.  She was sold in the UK - and in other European countries - in the same style of pink box as was used in North America. The UK box may have had a UK stamp added to the bottom to denote the release, but I have never had a Windy Wing box so cannot be sure. In France and in German speaking countries, the boxes were translated into the respective languages. It is unknown whether they were sold in translated or English-import boxes in other parts of Europe, or how many European countries saw a release of this set.

Whirly's Character

Whirly did not play as prominent role in the comics as some of her fellows, although she did have a couple of appearances in the 1990 annual. On one occasion, she had an encounter with the List Lady, for whom she had to answer ten questions, and in another, she helped to organise a Whiffle party for Baby Brother Apple Delight, along with her fellow Windy Wings.
