Sugar Apple


Sugar Apple was the pegasus character introduced in the Candy Cane set. She was sold in the UK via both the official release and via the Woolworths import, meaning that she was sold in both bordered and yellow boxes in the UK. The accessories were the same between releases - a sweetie comb, hairclip and ribbon. Pony above is not shown wearing her original clip. Her hair is a little messy but she has original curl.

Sugar Apple's Character

Sugar Apple was not as prominent in the comics as were her set-mates, all of whom had several comic appearances. She was used as the poster-model for the year's releases, but that was about all. Her box story talks about her accidentally 'inventing' toffee apples by dropping apples into a bowl of undetermined candy.  Someone needs to tell her that these already existed...
