So Soft Scrumptious

Scrumptious was sold as part of the additional character range tacked on to the original release of So Soft Ponies. We can say she is part of set 2, or Set 1.5, as she was released alongside existing So Soft characters from the first set. She was never sold in the UK in any form. She was not reissued in the final 1987 So Soft set. She is meant to be white, but it is not uncommon to find her in a soft cream shade.

Scrumptious's Character

I genuinely think So Soft Ponies have some of the most nonsensical backcard stories around. Scrumptious's is no different. Somehow she managed to turn a watermelon into a mountain for her friends to go explore in during a tea party. Sounds like a perfectly normal weekend...?!

I always think that Hasbro were watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when they came up with some of the names for the So Softs.  "Truly" and "Scrumptious" seems like too big a coincidence to me...
